Soccer legend Kaka was Serie A’s highest earner when he left AC Milan to join Real Madrid in 2009. Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Kaka was making €6.6 million per season after taxes. He was making at least a million euros more than any other Serie A player.

Francesco Totti was his nearest competition in that regard. The Roma captain made €5.46 million from the Giallorossi. Only six players in the league made €5 million or more that time. AC Milan stars Dida, Kaladze, Nesta, Ronaldo, Pirlo, Gattuso, and Inzaghi were making €4 million.

In Real, Kaka was on €175,000 per week. That sums out to a seasonal payout of €8.4 million. Unfortunately, Kaka couldn’t deliver at the level his astronomical wages would have justified him to perform at Real. Kaka’s six-year Real Madrid deal was worth more than €50 million.

For a majority of his career, Kaka has represented German sportswear giant Adidas and wore Adidas boots on the pitch. But, Adidas wasn’t inclined to extend their relationship with the Brazilian when Kaka left Milan and joined Orlando City.
