Dereck Chisora’s Net Worth, Wife & Money 2023

Dereck Chisora Net Worth

Dereck Chisora is a boxer who will always divide opinions. He comes from a humble background, rose all the way to the top, and is a proud father nowadays. On the flip side, however, he has a history of assaulting his girlfriend and uttering death threats for little to no reason. Whatever your feelings on Chisora are, it is undeniable that he is one of the best British boxers in history. Today, we look at Dereck Chisora’s net worth and his career.

Dereck Chisora Net Worth – £10 million

Boxing is one of the best-paid sports in the world. So, it’s not a surprise that Dereck Chisora has amassed a fortune, having landed a series of high-profile victories in his career.

Del Boy’s biggest payday in his career came against Oleksandr Usyk in 2020, when he took home a whopping £4.4 million for beating the Ukrainian.

In his rematch with Joseph Parker in 2021, Chisora failed to replicate his 2019 success against the New Zealander, but he still banked a guaranteed payout of £2.5 million plus a 50% split of PPV revenue.

In 2023, Dereck Chisora’s net worth will be around £10 million.

Dereck Chisora’s Wife & Family

Dereck Chisora has been frequently pictured with several women over the past few years, but it remains unclear whether or not he is romantically involved with anyone. Chisora has chosen to keep his love life under the radar since physically assaulting his former girlfriend in 2010.

Chisora was dating Yalda Kontratchy, a British-Iranian interior design student in his early years of fame. One night, Chisora cut up rough and slapped Kontratchy several times after finding a text message from a male friend on her phone.

Kontratchy later sued Chisora, and the latter had to pay a sizable fine and commit to 150 hours of community service as punishment. She broke up with Chisora right after the incident.

Dereck Chisora has a daughter, but he has not disclosed her mother’s identity to the public. However, he speaks fondly of his daughter in interviews and suggests he is trying to behave himself since his daughter looks up to him and insists he does not want to be a bad influence on her.

Dereck Chisora Endorsements

Dereck Chisora has been endorsed by online betting giants Paddy Power in the past. He was seen wearing Paddy Power shorts on fights and promotions.

In 2012, Chisora turned down an unnamed sponsor who offered him £70,000 for putting its logo on Chisora’s shoes. The sponsor wanted to place its logo on Chisora’s boots so that it becomes visible when Chisora gets knocked out and lies defeated on the canvas.

The sponsor was targeting Chisora’s world championship fight with Vitali Klitschko. Chisora was an underdog going into the fight, but he believed he could cause an upset and claim the belt. However, things did not go his way, and Klitschko picked up an expected victory.

Dereck Chisora Investments

Dereck Chisora has revealed that he has invested in real estate and owns several properties across the United Kingdom. He owns a farm in Hampstead, where he stays with his daughter and other family members.

Chisora comes from a farming family and loves staying in a farm environment. He plans to pursue farming professionally as a career once he hangs up his gloves for good.

Dereck Chisora Cars

Dereck Chisora is fascinated with fancy cars, even though he was pictured several times driving a simple 4×4 Smart car.

He owns a Bentley Continental Supersports that will set you off around £250,000.

His car collection also features a £200,000 Rolls Royce Phantom Series 2. Chisora is a great admirer of Mercedes-Benz as he has several Mercedes cars lying in his garage.

Mercedes-Benz SLC, Mercedes-Benz V-Class, and Mercedes G-Class are some of the Mercedes models Chisora currently owns.

Dereck Chisora Career

Dereck Chisora has entered the ring on 44 occasions in his professional career, and he won 32 of those fights. In 2012, he challenged Vitali Klitschko for the WBC heavyweight championship. At the regional level, Chisora has simultaneously held multiple heavyweight titles. The boxer held the British and Commonwealth titles from 2010 to 2011 and the European title from 2013 to 2014. He won the ABA super-heavyweight championship as an amateur in 2006.

After winning his first fight against Tván Ecké, Chisоrа fought against Am Eton, Hawn Clean, and Lee Waby. He notoriously bit his opponent Paul Butlin in 2009 and had to serve a four-month suspension, which denied him of a fight with Danny Williams for the British Championship. He also had to pay out hefty fines to atone for his misconduct.

The following year, he finally had the opportunity to fight Danny Williams. He made use of it and became the British champion as he defeated Williams convincingly. Chisora did not taste defeat until he won the Commonwealth Championship and fought Tyson Fury in 2011.

Having won more than 70% of his professional bouts, it’s safe to say that Dereck Chisora has had a successful boxing career. Besides the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight title, he had the honour to bring home the WBO International Heavyweight Title, WBA International Heavyweight Title, and the EBU European Heavyweight Title.

Box-Rec ranked Chisora ninth in their heavyweight rankings published in November 2021.

Charity Work

Dereck Chisora has been ordered to do community work by the court as punishment, but apart from legal obligations, he has generously helped many causes.

In 2020, he sold customised masks and donated the proceeds to the NHS. He is a donor of the African Caribbean Leukemia Trust. Chisora donated £20,000 to a children’s hospital after losing to David Haye in 2012. Haye and Chisora had agreed that the loser would donate £20,000 to a children’s hospital, and Chisora kept his word.

Manchester United

Dereck Chisora is an avid Manchester United fan and often expresses his love for the Red Devils on social media. Chisora famously donned a Manchester United shirt in the ring back in 2012; unfortunately, he could not sing “Glory Glory” after the bout as he came out second best.

Final Words

Dereck Chisora is a controversial figure, but he also has the love of a sizable portion of boxing fans in the UK. Dereck Chisora’s net worth will improve more if he can schedule a few more highly publicised bouts in the future. A late World Championship charge could not be ruled out as well.
