In the following three years, Fury had his fair share of popular fights, and notable victories, however, his most important fight came in 2015, when he went up against Wladimir Klitschko, the then-world heavyweight champion. After defeating Klitschko, Fury held the title for only ten days, before he was stripped due to a contract clause that stipulated he would have to grant a match within 10 days of his victory.

In 2020, Tyson Fury went up against Deontay Wilder and won the fight with a TKO in the seventh round. With this victory, Fury became the third fighter in history, apart from Floyd Patterson and Muhammad Ali, to hold the Ring magazine title twice. This success has made him the number one, best boxer working today, in the minds of most people.

Saul Alvarez

Mexico is the country where boxing is most popular, and the nation has produced quite a few of the most successful boxers in the world. Among them, one of the most prominent today, is Saul Alvarez Barragan, more commonly known as Canelo Alvarez. The man has won multiple world championships in four different weight classes, from light middleweight to light heavyweight. As of May 2022, Alvarez has earned himself the number 1 title in the boxing world, as the best active, pound-for-pound boxer, according to the BoxRec

Known as one of the greatest counterpunchers in the history of the sport, Alvarez is known for his uncanny ability to notice and exploit an opponent’s weaknesses, and for his quick movements, which allow him to dodge quite a bit of oncoming blows.

Naoya Inoue

Ranked 12th in the BoxRec rating of the best pound-for-pound boxers. Inoue is a world champion in three different divisions and is the current bantamweight world champion. Since 2019, he has held the WBA, the IBF, and the Ring magazine titles. 

His 86% knockout ratio, along with his immense punching power, have earned Naoya Inoue the nickname “Monster”, a moniker he lives up to every time he steps into the ring. While BoxRec has him at the number 12 spot, the TBRB and ESPN have ranked him as the 2nd greatest, active, pound-for-pound boxer today, a rating which he certainly has earned.
