The Premier League Golden Boot 2019
The 2018/2019 Premier League season was extremely tight, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sadio Mane & Mohamed Salah sharing first place. All receiving the Golden Boot and praise all around.
Although they finished with 22 goals for the season, it is a bit on the low side, compared with strikers in previous seasons.
Man City’s Sergio Aguero came in a close second with 21 goals. Leicester and England striker Jamie Vardy wins third place with 18 goals. Double boot winner Harry Kane shares fourth with Raheem Sterling on 17 goals each.
Hard to pick one out of the top three, with so many goals of the season contenders between them. But if I had to choose one, it would be Aubameyang.
Liverpool is already a well-oiled goal machine and Arsenal has been quite poor in recent times. So for him to equal Mane and Salah is an amazing achievement.
Player To Win The Golden Boot The Most
France international Thierry Henry of Arsenal won the boot 4 times. Signing for the gunners in 1999 who went on to score 228 goals (in all competitions), which declared him their best striker to date. Some even say the leagues very best of all time. Quite a steal too, at 11 million pounds.
Harry Kane of Spurs is gathering pace towards the English records holder with two boots.
But it’s Alan Shearer who is the current English player to hold the award the most, with 3 golden boots written in history. which nicely leads us to our next stat below with most goals in a season.
Most Goals In A Season
Andrew Cole of Newcastle and Alan Shearer of Blackburn Rovers top this stat with 34 goals each. The record was nearly broken in 2018 with 32 goals by Mo Salah but he fell short at the last hurdle.
Premier League Top Goal Scorers Of All Time
- Alan Shearer – 260 goals
- Wayne Rooney – 208 goals
- Andrew Cole – 187 goals
- Sergio Aguero – 180 goals
- Frank Lampard – 177 goals
- Thierry Henry – 175 goals
- Robbie Fowler – 163 goals
- Jermain Defoe – 162 goals
- Michael Owen – 150 goals
- Les Ferdinand – 149 goals
- Teddy Sheringham – 146 goals
- Robin Van Persie – 144 goals
- Harry Kane – 136 goals
- Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink – 127 goals
- Robbie Keane – 126 goals
- Nicolas Anelka – 125 goals
- Dwight Yorke – 123 goals
- Steven Gerrard – 120 goals
- Romelu Lukaku – 113 goals
- Ian Wright – 113 goals
Will Alan Shearer’s record ever be broken? Aguero is still in the running, being the closest active player but has he got another three seasons left at Man City?
He is aging at 31 years old and there are many reports in recent times, mentioning replacements to take over at the Etihad Stadium.
Who will Man City sell their prize striker too? They have the upper hand, and I doubt very much they will sell them to a rival team in Europe, never mind in the Premier League.
Top Scorer From A None Striker
Frank Lampard (midfield) with 177 goals is the highest Premier League goalscorer by a none striker position. He currently sits in the 5th position, which is unbelievable, considering Steven Gerard is the other closest midfield player with 120 goals and his currently ranked 18th.
Clean Sheets By Goalkeepers

- David James – 169 games with a clean sheet
- Mark Schwarzer – 151 games with a clean sheet
- David Seaman – 141 games with a clean sheet
- Nigel Martyn – 137 games with a clean sheet
