Magnificent Man City Maul Watford FC In A 8-0 Thriller

1 Minute Read -

Pep Guardiola is the most sought after manager of the moment, beating records wherever he goes. Multiple La Liga, Bundesliga & the English Premier League. Today is was very close to succeed the ‘highest margin win’ from Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United. 24 years ago, Manchester United destroyed Ipswich Town 9-0 at Old Trafford. Roy Keane and Paul Ince netting one each, Mark Hughes adding two to the onslaught and Andy Cole stole the show with an incredible five goals.

Records are there to be broken…

It just goes to shows the path Sir Alex was on and why he earned his legend status. Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspurs and Newcastle United were all close with 8 goals difference, although not close enough. But I really do hope we don’t need wait another 24 years for Sir Alex’s record to be broken. I’m sure the reason we all watch and love football is for the goals.

Manchester City 5-0 at half time!

Today’s match started a little different to the game 24 years ago. While Manchester United were only 2-0 up at half time, their rivals Manchester City had already sealed the win, with an unreachable 5 goals by 45 minute whistle. Any other team with this advantage would i’m sure, sit back and play it out. Of course the champions of England had different ideas. B Silva scoring 2 and De Bruyne given way too much space in the last 10 mins to convert the final goal of the game.

Looks like its going to be a tight season, again

I’m sure this has sent a shock wave over to Merseyside and to all the Liverpool players, staff and fans. Liverpool still has a perfect record, one game in a hand & two points clear at the top of the Premier League. I’m sure this will undoubtedly have caused a fuss at Anfield. Let’s see how Liverpool respond tomorrow with their away fixture with out of form Chelsea FC because anything less than a straight clear win, will give momentum to City.
